Shops are due to open in the Bethesda area of Maryland and in Georgetown, a district of D.C. The Georgetown store will open up inside Montgomery mall's foot court whilst the Maryland store will open up within the mall at Bethesda.
Joel Rogzinski and Holly Bagwell, an engaged couple are the owners of the Virginia Popsicle company. Holly is from Alabama whilst Joel is from Mexico, and their business idea grew out of them witnessing how well popsicles sold in their hometowns. Bringing the frozen treats to the East Coast has proved successful and the couple is planning on opening up other shops throughout D.C and Maryland. They started out with a mobile trailer, where they travelled with their popsicles to events and to children's birthday parties before opening a shop on the outskirts of D.C, in Loudoun County town. This is a proper home-grown business.
The Maryland store, that the couple will open in the Bethesda mall has been built completely by their own hand. They have not hired a single contractor in the construction and they claim to have worked 20-hours day whilst also watching a lot of Youtube to pick up tips in order to get the job done. The couple really take pride in their stores and they see them as a place where kids and teens can come to socialise as well as enjoy a popsicle or two. So much so, that they encourage kids to draw on the sidewalk outside their shop with chalk, have board games for children to play inside as well as puzzles to complete. They want to build a culture around their product and give people a place to meet up.
Holly and Joel have some delicious flavours available for you to try including, fruity varieties such as limeade or mango and creamy flavours such as cookies and creme or birthday cake. They have gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan popsicles available, and so can cater for all dietary requirements and you can even have you popsicle chocolate-dipped if you wish. They also sell nitrogen-infused coffees if you fancy something a bit warmer as well as locally sourced kombucha if you need something healthy. Why not head down to the new stores in Maryland and D.C. and give them a try.
