The seventh episode of the Star Wars saga, The Force Awakens, will hit the screen next December only but the toy retailer is already on board, preparing the Force Friday celebrations. All Toys"R"Us stores in the galaxy (that's 38 countries) will open at 12:01 am, on September 4, for a complete immersion in the Star Wars experience. In Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Poland, Portugal, Spain, the U.K and the U.S, Star Wars fans will be able to purchase a whole new line of toys and accessories and exclusive dedicated merchandise. Limited giveaways will be offered to the first fans in the waiting lines.
If you happen to be in New York City around that time, head to the Times Square Toys"R"Us flagship store, preferably dressed as a Star Wars character for even more fun. Festivities will begin at 9am on Thursday September 3, offering quite a heavy program. A special exhibition (actually starting on Wednesday, August 26) will display originals, prototypes and early editions of Star Wars toys, along with many collectibles. Trivia, costume contest, book signing, panel discussion, Wookie Cookie Party, Light Saber Academy... are only a few of the various activities scheduled on that special day. Don't miss it: the countdown is here.
