Pennsylvania is due to get it's very first Lidl. The German grocery store is due to open this month in the city and will bring its huge range of cut-price groceries along with it.

Having been in the planning stages for more than three years, shoppers in the Pennsylvania area will certainly be looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about and visiting their first Lidl.

Opening

The new Lidl will open at 8 am on August 21st 2019. The location is 980 S. Richland Avenue in Spring Garden Township. The store will actually be situated within The Shoppes at Wyndham. The grocery store is really going to town when it comes to celebrating their opening. The first part of the opening ceremony will feature a ribbon-cutting event as well as prizes being handed out to the first 100 customers in the line. These will be gift cards which will range in value between $5 to $100. There will also be plenty of different foods being offered around as samples and new customers walking through the door will also receive a free reusable shopping bag until stocks last.

The Store

The new Pennsylvania grocery store will be in a similar format to the other Lidls around the world. It is a format that many of us are familiar with and it works, so there really is no reason to mess with it. New customers can expect a bakery and floral department as well as plenty of fruit and vegetables, tinned goods, fresh items and frozen foods on offer. They can also look forward to 'Aldi Speical Buys'. These are items that don't really fit into the grocery sector that are offered at exciting prices to really offer excitement to customers. Expect goods such as exercise equipment, homewares, camping paraphernalia or small household appliances.

US Growth

This new store marks growth for the famous grocery chain within the US. The chain had originally been ambitious in their plans for expanding in the US, they wanted to open 100 stores in the country by 2018 but had to slow their plans down. A statement released by the US CEO earlier this year, however, confirmed that these plans were now being put back into action. The new Pennsylvania grocery store, it seems is just the start.

Pay a visit to the new store, to sample some of the great items that they sell. The store will be open daily between 8 am and 10 pm.
