Colorado Springs : 9th Chick-fil-A Restaurant

Chick-fil-A, the well-known Atlanta fast food chain, have done it again by opening another branch in Colorado Springs in the northeast region of the city.

Popular Food Chain

The restaurant is situated at the Dublins Common Retail Centre and is the ninth to open in the Pikes Peak area and is known for it's trademark chicken sandwiches and all day menu that transitions from breakfast to lunch and then dinner. Such is the success of the brand that it is now one of the largest fast food chains ranking nearly as high as McDonald's and Wendy's.

Traditional Values

The original company known as the Dwarf Grill (now Dwarf House) was founded in 1946, and the current restaurants still reflect the Baptist values of it's founder - S. Truett Cathy - who was devoutly religious, and even today the chain is closed on Sundays as well as Christmas and Thanksgiving.

The name of the restaurant is a slightly humorous take on the American English pronunciation of the word 'fillet' and the first Chick-fil-A came into being in 1967 in Atlanta after Truett Cathy had perfected his famous chicken sandwich. Nowadays there are in excess of 2,200 restaurants mainly in the United States, and the Colorado Springs branch represents another expansion of the brand.

Promotion

The new restaurant in Colorado Springs which is on the southeast side of Powers and Dublin was accompanied by what has become a traditional 'first 100' promotion. This entails residents camping out for 24 hours in advance of the opening of the new store in the hope of winning a prize. The prizes are eagerly sought after by contestants as they constitute a whole year's supply of Chick-fil-A food!

Drive Thru and Mobile Ordering

The new Chick-fil-A has been designed for high volumes of customers as the restaurant is 5,300 square feet in size and also includes a drive thru lane that can take up to 200 cars per hour, and it also has a designated pickup counter to accommodate mobile orders. The new restaurant is expected to boost the economy in the region and create a raft of new jobs for those living in the surrounding areas.
