Burger King just added a hot dog to its menu, hoping it's going to follow the Whopper's steps and become America's favorite hot dog.

Burger King's new sandwich, a hot dog, is probably already available somewhere near you. The fast food restaurant chain launched the Grilled Dogs a few days ago, and confidently hopes that it will become to the hot dog what the Whopper became to the burger: America's Favorite. "We're applying over 60 years of flame-grilling expertise with the Whopper sandwich to make Grilled Dogs the next great American icon" said Alex Macedo, Burger King's President for North America, in the press release.

Burger King actually offers two variants of the hot dog. They're both made with 100% beef, flame-grilled and served on a baked bun. The Classic Grilled Dog is topped with the usual ketchup, mustard, onions and relish, the Chili Cheese Grilled Dog is served with warm chili and cheddar cheese. Of course you can 'have it your way' and customize your hot dog by adding or cutting toppings.

Grilled Dogs are available all year long, like any other permanent item on Burger King's menu, in 7,100 restaurants across the US. The recommended prices are $1.99 for The Classic Grilled Dog, and $2.39 for the Chili Cheese Grilled Dog.
